Explore the hidden world beneath your feet on a full day of guided caving in the Peak District. This caving experience is ideal if you're keen to try caving for the first time or want a more relaxed introduction to this fascinating underground activity. With expert instruction and flexible options, it's the perfect starting point for your caving journey.
What to ExpectAfter meeting your instructor at 9.30am, we’ll drive a short distance to the chosen cave. Once you’re kitted out and ready to go, we’ll run through a full safety briefing before heading underground.Depending on the day and local conditions, we’ll either explore one cave system in depth or split the day between two contrasting caves. You’ll learn how caves form, spot natural features and formations, and explore a range of underground passageways – mostly horizontal in nature. This full day experience allows us to go further than our shorter sessions and gives you a proper insight into the underground world. There’s no rush – the pace is steady, and your instructor will adapt the route to suit the group. We often bring along ropes and ladders, so if you’re feeling adventurous and want to try a short descent or climb, there may be a chance to add a little extra challenge. However, these elements are completely optional, and a more technical progression is covered on our
Intermediate Caving and
SRT courses.
