Peak District National Park

Kinder Scout Perseids Meteor Shower with Hot Chocolate & Cookies

  • Location Derbyshire
  • Price from £40.00

Highlights

The annual Perseids Meteor Shower is one of the best to observe with up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak.
Produced by comet Swift-Tuttle, discovered in 1862, the Perseids are famous for producing a large number of bright meteors.
Our walk is timed to coincide with the peak frequency.

At a relaxed pace we trek up to the Kinder Plateau, enjoying sunset views along the way. Savouring views from Peak District's highest mountain we find sheltered spot and your guides will serve hot chocolate, coffee, tea and cookies. We settle down to watch the show, visible with the naked eye, most of the meteors coming from direction of the Perseus and Cassiopeia constellations. We then have a little more time for exploring before descending back to Hayfield.

Substitutions

But will inform Ranger Expeditions Ltd of this substitution. Ranger Expeditions Ltd are not party to any exchange of monies between the incoming and outgoing participant. As a condition of joining, the incoming participant must agree to the participation statement below.

Deferrals
We're sorry but we cannot accept deferrals to a later event. While we sympathise with participant's individual circumstances, we cannot indemnify against injury, illness or other unfortunate situations in private life prior to the event. The bottom line is that booking fees for a given event are already heavily invested very early in the planning process (e.g. booking guides, support team, advance payments for transport where used, insurance etc) Deferrals in effect cost us twice the amount in event costs – once for the event deferred from and once again for the event deferred to, which is not sustainable.

Insurance
If the ability to join is of concern to a participant, we recommend taking out personal cancellation insurance.
Legally, we cannot legally advise or guide you on cancellation policies or their details.

Participation Statement
I understand the nature of the event. I agree that I enter the event at my own risk and take full responsibility for my own safety and actions during the event. I do not have any medical condition that would deem me as a medical risk during the event.

Inclement weather is to be expected with hill walking and outdoor activities. And while we often enjoy blue skies and sunshine. We're not afraid of rain and wind can, which has been a feature of many memorable grand days out with a sense on achievement at the end.

1) Full refund
